Located along the Pacific Ocean on the far North Coast of California, Humboldt County is a diverse and beautiful land. The quaint towns, unique culture, and scenic countryside make for an ideal place to call home. Although it is most known for the Redwood Tree forests that dot many parts of Humboldt County, there is much more to see and do. In addition to the cathedral-like natural wonder of Redwood National Park, Humboldt County is also home to the largest Artist Community in California which includes painters, potters, blacksmiths, woodworkers, fiber artists, musicians and more. The County also borders the Pacific Ocean and therefore has numerous seaside towns including Arcata, Eureka, Trinidad and Shelter Cove. The prevalent hills in the area also give rise to six major rivers. These factors all lead to an abundance of State and Local parks, as well as a plethora of Outdoor Activities to participate in. Gaining the laid-back attitude of the locals who live in this paradise every day is relatively easy. The meandering side roads, stunning natural beauty, oceanside weather, and progressive new-age culture lead many toward the relaxed, peaceful spirit of the land.

first and foremost, please remember that this just a game. don't take things personally and cross the in character / out of character line or we'll have to get mean, and you won't like us when we're mean. your character should be 13+ and their played by should reflect their relative age. journals may be based on names (e.g., jjones) or done in an out of character style (e.g., cupcake), but please do not include underscores or use excessive numbers and letters (e.g., xxxbabydollx) when creating your journal. aim screen names are not required, and may be created similarly to journals. if accepted, you will have 72 hours to post an introduction or you will be removed. you should have an update every 3 weeks, but if you're unable to provide one you also have the option of providing one completed thread in the threading community. if you're unable to provide either an entry or a completed thread, you will be removed.

| application & taken |

the application process for humboldt is fairly simple. all you need are information and contact posts. as far as your information post is concerned, it doesn't have to be lengthy by any means. in fact, we only require one biographical paragraph or at least five facts. if you choose to use facts, they must be detailed - "her favorite color is red" will not pass as a detailed fact. for an example of a contact post, please see this link. contact posts are required to maintain out of character contact with the other players in the community, although they can also be used as a dropbox for in character text messages, emails, tweets, and more. friends onlys are optional. we will be basing acceptance primarily on examples and we would prefer to see scenes over entries. we highly suggest using a compilation journal or placing your examples in a locked post. do not pm your examples. | name: first and last age & date of birth: must be 13+ occupation: are they a student or do they work? residency: where do they live or go to school? played by: two challenges per played by journal: unlinked aim: optional information: information contact: contact examples: do not pm your examples! request membership | if your application was deleted, we're sorry to inform you that you weren't quite what we were looking for. the next set of adds will be done at 5+ apps.
